FAQ

How many nappies do I need?

You will need 8 – 12 nappies per day x how often you want to wash them (I recommend to main wash every 2-3 days max) 24 – 36 is a good starting point.

How do I care for my nappies?

Troubleshooting leaks

If you are changing the nappy every 2-3hrs and having leaks, it’s likely a fit or absorbency issue.

Fit

Ensure that rise settings are set to the correct size.  There should be no gaps around the legs, run your hands around the legs and tuck in any elastic to get a good seal. The waist should be firm not tight, you should be able to get two fingers in around the waist. Remember cloth nappies sit much lower than disposables, they fit similar to underwear.

Absorbency

When changing the nappy are the inserts completely soaked?

YES - You need more absorbency! Try adding two inserts or switching to a higher capacity insert. REMEMBER inserts can take up to 8 washes for them to reach their maximum capacity

No – It might be flooding! Flooding happens more often with older toddlers who hold for long and release larger volumes of liquid at once. Try pairing a fast absorbing insert such as microfibre with a high capacity insert such as hemp cotton (place the microfibre on top of hemp but not directly in contact with baby’s skin)
